    Quick Breakdown Question

I am sitting on the side of the M1 waiting for a tow truck. One of the auto gearbox oil cooler lines has blown off and it has dumped all the oil.
How much pressure is there in the oil cooler pipes? I was thinking if I can push the pipe back on and somehow secure it I can then get some oil in it so that I can drive it from the road into my garage where I can then fix it properly.

People have made impromptu repairs on the roadside so it can be done.

I had the same thing happen. It was a tow job. Actually the pipe that busted was a swaged connection, so I would imagine not too much pressure.

The connection fittings are the same but the pipes are different.

If you can remove the crimped ferrule off the hose and fitting 2 x 20mm x 6mm band (high quality) hose jubilee clamps will secure it to the swage fitting and should get you home.

Don't know what the pressure actually is, but I do know that it is not a lot.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
