There really is no need for welding or restrictors. Just run some good quality vacuum hose from down near the boost modulator to your boost gauge and your done. Nice and simple.

Except:
The turbo outlet pre intercooler is a false reading - pressure drop through the IC isnt measured.
Want to make the engine perform at its best - pick up the wastegate modulator from the inlet manifold (post IC) as well, gives a real boost reading to the wastegate.
Where I teed mine in, near the wastegate modulator, it reads the exact same boost as the Nanocom as well. Would there be much of a difference putting it where you said Tombie? As in the PSI reading on the gauge. So would I be seeing say 1 or 2 PSI less then what the real reading is because of where I have it?
What happens if something gets blocked up? Eg. Hose issue. Won't the turbo over boost while the gauge reads low? I figured measuring close to the turbo is safer, although it doesn't match what the engine sees. However being no expert I've really just made a lot of assumptions.

Thanks all for your advice I have taken it to mtq turbos they said plumb it into modulator pick up line .
Mine is in the modulator pick up line (only fitted two weeks ago) nice and smooth till it hits about 10psi then "flutters" slightly till maxes at 17-18psi. But my turbo could be a bit worse for wear after copping some seriously high EGT's for a couple years before I fitted the EGT gauge! Still to try and adjust to see if it will get closer to where it should be.
At first I mistakenly fitted it to the wrong modulator line (post modulator) and it was all over the place! :)
