    Driver demand error

    Hi all
Just returned from googs track, and the disco performed faultlessly as usual, although I did have a couple of minor issues on our way home

Noticed a couple of times when pulling hard a heavy bucking, like fuel cut on overboost.
Main issue was pulling up the southern expressway, if I gave her too much throttle I could provoke the constant bucking, until it went into limp mode showing the MIL light and the M&S lights flashing.
Shut down and restarted, fine from then on.

I thought it was over boosting, but nanocom showed a driver demand error logged.

I have had a few situations recently where the revs have dropped away for a split second.

The flashing M&S lights have me a bit puzzled though

I did check the ecu plugs and there was slight oil there, recently had the loom changed, cleaned the oil and could not get it to fault since.

Ran some data and the throttle pots seem to track ok, and everything else seems normal

Maybe it was the oil in the loom?

    Any other ideas?

Check your... Wastegate modulator and wastegate.

The action youre describing is fuel cut (overboost).

Driver demand can link from overboost cut - or your pedal assy may be playing up.

If WG and WGM are ok, then you may be just slightly close to overboost and a 1/2 turn on the wastegate arm may resolve it.

Our D2 found the Southern Expressway would overwhelm the driveline (too much boost) and throw M&S from torque levels...

    Thanks Mike,

Modulator was replaced a couple of months back, wastegate seems fine, but I did give it a slight lube and worked it a bit just in case.

Will keep an eye on the boost levels, I'll log some data next time I am down that way in the Disco

It did feel like over boost, and that was my initial thought, but the M&S threw me a bit.

I even said to my wife that it was over boosting when it lacked power pulling up the hill, that's when It faulted.

Still not convinced its not the throttle, as I have had a few times that the revs have just dropped off for a split second.

Time will tell when it happens again, i'll be watching more closely.
