Depends on what additive you are using in the washer bottle, ie paint stripper, acid, gun wash
Seriously though I have never had a bother on any vehicle using correct washer additive in correct volumes of mix ratios.
Hi guys any thoughts on the impact washer fluid in windscreen squirter has on the clear coat of our roof and bonnet? Cheers Matt

I think continual sun on the roof and bonnet would have more influence on the condition of the paintwork than washer fluid.

Many clear coats up to the early 2000s were not UV stable - hence the clouding and peeling of clearcoats up to that time.
So as mentioned - sunlight is the main issue as long as correct washer additives are used.

I have just finished spraying the roof of my 2002 Disco 2, as the clear coat is no longer clear. Cars post 2000 have just not started peeling YET .LOL
There is a Prado near my house where the roof has completely peeled.
Dark colours seem worse like my Oslo Blue, most probably because they absorb more heat than light colours. Mine spent 4 years in Townsville which didn't help the paint or the roof lining.
IMHO the UV problems really started with the water based paints the car makers now have to use because of pollution rules , although European paint was always crap.

Those that have access to a carport or garage won't have the problem nearly as bad like those of us that park outside in the UV.
Certainly in Aust and some other countries there was some consumer action that forced car manufacturers (via increasing warranty paint claims) to change to a more "UV Resistant" clear coat. Certainly my 80 subaru failed, my 94 disco was just starting when I sold it and my 98 Freelander bonnet went as well. My RRS is not showing any issue at all and it is parked out in the sun most days and due to its height and clear air Canberra has one of the highest UV counts of any city in Aust.
You make the point about European paint but note Aussie clear coat is just as bad.

Disco doesn't fit through the stupid garage door or car port.. Not good news for my Black disco. Previous first owner had it in the garage all it life so it is just starting a cloud patch. I also heard baby oil helps hide it. I recon that would speed the peel process just like putting it on your skin. Used car sales trick I think.
If you can get it before it starts to peel, it can be covered with primer and another top coat.
I did my Oslo Blue D2 initially with some Holden colour that was near to Oslo and it stayed on for a year, so I have now recoated the whole roof in primer, then silver metallic, then clear coat from Supercheap spraycans.
They were on special for 2for $15 so it cost me only $100 in total for 4 of each, which is about what you need plus some 800 wet and dry and cutter etc. It turned out pretty well although it is hard to get a completely consistent colour surface with cans, but then nobody sees the roof.
I did it silver after feeling how hot Oslo gets in the sun to help my fridge and aircon. It is a good 10-15C cooler to touch on a hot sunny day.
I have also bought some "black chrome" exterior vinyl $20 on Ebay to cover the skylights with, seeing they are so hard to tint. It arrived today so will put it on this week. I reckon it will look good.
I am also going to experiment with 2x 12v 92MM computer fans which I will mount in a window to expell hot air. The reviews on the solar fans say they are useless but a good idea with stronger fans, so we will see how it goes.
