I have never de-webbed my manifold left the middle holes as is the outer ones drilled out and skimmed, have the motor chipped etc, manifold has never broken a stud or come loose in 8 odd years.
It is the outer 1 and 5 positions that should be slotted. These are the ones that break and benefit if the manifold can slide.

Mine has the outer (1 & 5) holes drilled out & larger studs fitted. Trouble is drilling out the shim metal type gasket, it buckles, bends and twists, I wound up gradually filing the holes out with a very fine round file, what do others do in this situation?

Here are the JE Engineering studs fitted to a stock manifold that has been de-webbed and ceramic coated by APT Fabrications.
Feel free to hit me up with any questions regarding either product. I'll try to help if I can.
I've got a bolt missing on number 1 and a nut missing on 5. The car runs well so I don't want to do things to it unnecessarily. But anything that prevents problems later is a good idea. Should I just place the nut and bolt without removing anything or strip it down ?
