Terrafirma silencer replacement now hitting sump.

    Hi All
today I went to delete my silencer and find this whole in the rear section due to the exhaust coming off one of the front hangers . ImageUploadedByTapatalk1413106439.939648.jpg

I had a spare rear section in the shed so I swapped that as well as the removing the centre muffler now the front section is on the hanger again but it is banging on the sump.

Any tips on how to fix this I have moved it in the hangers but that isn't enough.

    Cheers Matt

I had the exact same problem when I fitted the centre delete. I was able to move it away enough by loosening the connect to the down pipe and then tightening it while pushing the centre pipe away from the sump. Once I fitted the terrafirma downpipe a month later the whole exhaust sat perfect.

Cheers do you mean where the dump pipe connects to the turbo?

Where the pump connect to the centre. There is a fair bit of movement in that "knuckle" connection there if you loosen the two bolts.

I have previously found that the order in which the down pipe to the turbo exhaust outlet is tightened will effect it's position. Try tightening the nuts furthest from the engine first.

Is it hitting the auto sump or the engine sump?
