Location to install an Enginesaver on a D2?

I just bought an Enginesaver from AULRO and I am wondering where people have installed it inside the vehicle? The installation instructions say "locate a place inside the steering column or behind the lower dash fascia. An unused switch blank is also a good place to fit it".

Any photos would be great as I can't find any on here or the Enginesaver site. It does look simple so I'm going to try and do it myself.

    It is fairly simple.

I have the unit itself installed behind the lower dash fascia taking its power from a wire tap fuse which protects the radio etc (that way if the radio isn't working I can guess that the EngineSaver isn't working either).

I have the LED in one of the switch blanks on the left hand side of the binnacle. The wire with the LED is long enough to reach easily. (you might need to feed some fishing line or similar through the back of the switch the pull the LED cable up).

I'll put some photos up of my installation later if nobody else does theirs beforehand. I can't imagine there is much variation in how they've been installed.

Same installation as above with unit behind the panel under the steering column and the LED installed in one of the switch blanks on the instrument binacle.

    Hi

My install was pretty similar to that described by the previous posters, but I took the power from a unused pin on the lower fuse panel behind the panel below the steering wheel. I connected the earth (negative) to a screw hole on the bracket to the left of the fuse box.

I mounted the warning light in an unused switch blank on the centre console next to the hazard switch.

    Cheers

    Steve
