Thread: Reinserting Oil Pan Grommet ... Anybody ;>((

2002 Discovery 150,000 Miles
While cleaning the oil pan I removed the robber
grommets to give them a good cleanig, well It has been impossible to put them back. Has
anybody has had this problem and had success in putting them back?

LOL. Been there ,the rubber is swollen from the exposure to leaking engine oil. You'll get one lip fitted and then it'll let go as you try to fit the others After an hour I gave up on refitting the old ones.
Solution : replace with new ones

I tried for a few days everything imaginable :heat gun, microwave, Vaseline...nothing worked. My degree of incompetence was making nuts. I was coursing the engineers that came with that idea.
Much oblige mate, I'll cross this nightmare out of my to do list. ;>)
