Probably rubber hoses with a silicon outer. A common rip off that delaminates even worse than standard hoses. Proper silicon hoses are easy to detect as they are the same on the inside as the outside. They are built up of many layers of silicon rather than just a few around a rubber core. Or so my mechanic told me last week. Go standard or a known brand.

I have the same brand on my FL2. They were bought in January this year and approx 20000km ago. No issues, still look like new. Could get in a range of colours but I went black.

I bought a Terrafirma branded set some years ago. They have been great quality-wise, however, the small one that runs from the turbo to the metal pipe was too short and would periodically slip off despite being clamped on as tight as possible.

I replaced it with this one and haven't had to touch it once.

Years ago Samco made some that were harder at the ends to resist the camps cutting into the silicone can't find them now. Anyone had this problem with the clamps.

How long do standard hoses last? Are they really that bad? Are silicon hoses another case of bling you don't really need? And yes, I have some silicon hoses on mine but am starting to think that when I replace them, standard hoses will be fine.

I think the theory is that they shouldn't ever need replacing if good quality to start with. Also they shouldn't stretch under boost so you get all the boost you turbo produces.

    Thanks for the link Matt.
I've had a close look at their ad and they look ok to me. They want £16.75 shipping to AUS, which make a total of $127.57.
I'm taking one for the team lol.

I have Allisport waiting to go on, they appear to have a good rep.
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
