Hi all I am looking at trading from a night stalker to a hella 4000 and doing a HID with what ever I keep. Any ideas on which ones would be better?
Leaning towards the Hella.
Cheers Matt
Not for $120
If you want HID driving lights, get proper HID designed ones rather than fitting a kit into ones not designed for it. The way the light reflects is different and there are different design considerations.
Personally, I think it is a silly idea to run halogen headlights and HID driving lights. My experience is that due to the brightness and the colour when you go back to your headlights, your eyes are out of adjustment and your visibility is significantly effected.
Hello mattg,
A little off topic for the brands that you are asking about but......
I have Narva 225's, twin spreader beam(blue type lens'). They were originally 100 watt globes, I converted them to 55 watt HID(6000K range). All I can say is that they are absolutely great for night driving on the Newell(A39). I have seen various light set ups and believe that I have the best for night driving!!!!
I guess it's all just opinion, but that's my 2 cents worth.
Cheers,
Jason
I pick up the Hellas tomorrow so decided to take them out to a dark road at test properly. Side by side is the only real test. I'll keep the brightest ones.
Plenty of discussion about the HID conversions I am planning to go with a 4300k globe. So it's close to normal headlights just brighter.
I don't have the budget for new HIDs
Mattg, I've had the Hella 4000 with HID 100 Watt 4300K globes for about two years on my RRC and they are great. Same setup on a set of Super Oscars on the 130 and they are a bit better. You won't be disappointed
Nick
Thanks Nick what kit did you fit?
