More or less the same. Over 3bar when cold, 2.4-2.7 when warm above 2000rpm, and drops between 0.8-1.0 at idle when warm. I also find when the oil gets old or on very hot days the pressure can drop to 0.6bar at idle so I normally bump the revs up a bit when sitting at lights if this happens. Mine has high mileage though at 472k.Quote:

I replaced my sensor recently due to erratic readings and established a good earth onto the engine block. Did it about two months ago and all was fine until a week ago. Now for a few km's after first starting in the morning I'm getting high readings. They go away before the engine is fully warm.

Another thing on this issue. Back in May I had intermittent loss of readings with my EMS-1 and it turned out to be associated with the RJ45 plug connecting the loom to the gauge.
I bought my EMS-1 in 2010 so I assumed that the wiring into the plug had fatigued or the RJ45 pins had corroded slightly. So I replaced the loom and all was well for a while.
I guess it's possible that the pins of the RJ45 connection on the EMS-1 itself need cleaning?
I fitted the analogue gauge again and the readings were steady
I replaced the sensor with a 0 to 500ohm potentiometer
Adjusting the resistance between 0 and 180ohms gave a steady reading on the digital read out of the EMS2
I will order a replacement sensor
I will also check out the operation of the oil cooler thermostat as this maybe the reason for the pressure variation btween cold and hot

Hello Mellow Yellow - finally found out what was happening with my EMS unit. My EGT readings started going over range. Gave the connection a wiggle and problem sorted. Thanks for the tip!Quote:

I fitted a VDO 360081032014C which has a connection for both signal and earth. I bought it across the internet from Namiis Gauge & Control who are located in Wickham NSW.
Im seeing about 8 to 10 PSI at Hot Idle on my EMS 1, and around 26PSI Hot at revs.
I made an engine harness for my EMS that earths to the head near the Oil pressure sender, it also earths onto a bolt at the water outlet where the temp sender is, and earths to the car body in the drivers side kick panel. I have left an earth plugged off to run down to the Auto Trans when I fit that temp sender.
The problem I am having is moreso with engine temp, my temps seem to be slightly higher at highway speeds than others (92 to 97 Degrees @110) but I am experiening increased temps when I turn any extra ancileries on, eg. Ac, Headlights, Hazard lights, High beam etc. Turning on these extra appliances can raise the temp upto 105, I have cleaned all earth points around the engine, which has made the system slightly less problematic, but I will endeavour to fit an additional earth wire from battery to chassis/body over the next few days.
A little O/T, but what coolant temps are other EMS users experiencing???

If your readings change when you turn on your headlights, high beam or even only your hazard lights then maybe you're experiencing a voltage drop to the Madman itself.Quote:
