Have you checked the fuses? I think there is two for the horn but can't remember for sure. The horn fuse has something to do with the cruise control as well as they are both on the steering wheel
Hey all how are we
So I recently got a recon transmission and few other bits done do the drive train
the other day when I was driving I realised my cruise control was not engaging and also that my horn didnt work
I did some trouble shooting checked all my other electronics and fuses with nothing else being faulty.
just wondering if anyone has any other tips or tricks for me to look at before I get mechanic or auto sparky involved

It will likely be the "clock spring" behind the steering wheel.
Cheers for the replies
yeah all fuses sweet I was hoping it be just that but might have to take wheel off and have a look
R13 relay in the eng comp fuse box maybe at fault![]()
Possibly the rotary coupler aka spiral cassette behind the steering wheel.
Is the SRS light on? The same unit carries the wiring for the driver's airbag.
Having said that I don't know why it would have been disconnected.

No srs light is not on and nothing else coming up
thought it was when the gearbox was put in maybe something not connected back up
but horn aswell has me leaning towards actual steering wheel as the fuses are fine
But will do another trouble shoot
How hars would it be to relocate the cruise control?
I have a spare generic steering wheel at home wondering if put that on and just put the cruise control somewhere to the side or that be to much wire play
As said before, there are two suspects here, the rotary coupler in the steering wheel or the horn relay(R13 engine bay fusebox) which is part of the cruise controll circuit too, check this one first, the coupler has different circuits for each system within it so it can be faulty on one or more of them not necessarily all, here you have more info Land Rover rotary coupler internals & close-up photos (YRC100350) | Richard Hobbs

I had a similar fault on mine turned out to be a damaged wire (earth )
to the plug that the coupler connects to under the column had to run
an overlay wire from the plug to bottom of the horn relay.
That then got a good earth for CC and horn to work.
