Excited but nervous

If you are as you say handy with the spanners, with the help of people here it is very easy to maintain your landy.

I would suggest one of the first things you do if finances permit is get a Nanocom. When i got my D2 two and a half years ago this was the first thing I did.

After about 18 months it had paid for itself.

As for your FPR. With your kilomatege it has definitely been done. As for their reliability. Mine has just had its first one, at 180,000, car 11 years old.

The harnesses under the driver seat are for electric seats, and CD stacker.
The plug under the dash is a diagnostics socket. Don't know what the others are for.
Check the fuel cooler under the inlet manifold while you are under the bonnet as it is common for the seals on each end to leak coolant.
Also worth spending the time to extend the air conditioner drains underneath to prevent water dripping onto the transmission XYZ switch and causing problems.

First time I have heard this. I was under the impression that moving the air con drains was for the double cardon joint.

As or the two plugs at the bottom of the screen. Mine is a HSE and it also has these, so I suspect it is for some option for OS models, possibly for heated windscreen.

Nope it also drops onto your XYZ switch. I just used some old garden hose and it seems to work fine

Fortunately for Brian, he lives not too far from me and my Testbook.

Unfortunately for Brian we see each other regularly - we are on the same motorbike forum and, with others, ride together and meet at his place to drink and talk rubbish.

Ha, :D I enjoy your company Ron. I've been busy getting to know the Disco but also have had another round of CT and PET scans. Planning to call in and show you the Disco tomorrow. Will phone you tho.
The engine bay and underside now have been pressure cleaned twice and now its shiny clean, it's easier to see any leaks or any other thing else that might need attention. So far only minor oil drops on the bell housing which don't leave any drops on the concrete driveway. Electrical wiring needs a lot of new shielding
