It just depends on what you want to carry up there.
For something strong (and heavy) for heavy loads, the ARB Steel rack - it'll carry spare tyres, gas bottles etc.
For something moderate like Rhino racks - it-ll carry luggage and camping gear, swags etc
Light weight baskets on roof rails for lighter gear.

Heaps of threads on this already - if you do a search you'll get the information that you seek much quicker!
Depends on your intended use for the roof rack as to which will be best for your application though.

Yep all true. The Rhino cross bars are very light and can be left on...very low profile when set up right and the carry weight is far more, as is the basket, than the roof rating...from memory twice as much or more. Rhino sell gas bottle holders for their rails. I wouldn't hesitate to throw a spare rim and wheel and lpg bottle on my basket in the photo. If you are doing really heavy weight then you can't beat all steel one piece rack though.

My youngest at 45kg and his mate at 40kg were sitting on the basket just before that photo was taken playing cards...the basket didn't deform, albeit static load.
