Cant go wrong with DBA rotors either plain or slotted (not drilled) and Bendix 4WD pads.

    Avoid Chinese ebay!

I'm not 100% sure on the Bendix 4x4 pads. I have them front and back in my D2a at the moment. I find their stopping power when cold to be terrible - which means that cold winter mornings like we get here in Tas they're extra bad. Once they've warmed up there is a significant improvement.

I realise that it's hard to have a pad that is good both cold and hot, as the heavy duty ones are designed to be effective hot due to the load and towing and no have brake fad. But, my other vehicle, a Pursuit ute, has Brembo 6 piston callipers that are designed for track days and a Mercedes Benz AMG OEM quality brake pad, it's brilliant when cold and hot, so it's definitely possible!

When my Bendix are done I'll try a different flavour. At the moment I'm leaning towards testing out EBC, they're passenger vehicle pads have always had a good rap, not familiar with their 4WD product though. DP61037 and DP61038 is the part number for their upgrade Greenstuff 6000 < Greenstuff Brake Pads > pad for D2's.

Maybe Ferodo Premiers < eCatalogue search results | Ferodo > < Premier brake pads from Ferodo guarantee OE quality and braking expert | Ferodo > even. I'd rather a pad that pulls the vehicle up with confidence consistently, rather than a longer lasting pad. I'm happy to change pads more regularly, so perhaps a softer compound is what I need.

Anyways, since it was asked, that is my thoughts on it. What ever your do, stick with a big name brand at the minimum - TRW, Bendix, Brembo, Ferodo, ECB, etc. don't go for a home brand or no name cheapie - I would also avoid the intermediate brands often found on eBay like Disctech, Delphi, Borg & Beck, Transgold, Europad, adb (Australian Disc Brakes), Protex, Driveforce, RDA, Zircon and Mintex - brakes are probably the one area of the vehicle to never skimp out on - but at the same time, remember that spending more isn't necessarily better with brake pads as once the prices go right up your starting to get into track pads which are for a different purpose...

I would be surprised if DBA weren't made in China these days.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

I bought discs from TRS for my D2. IIRC they were $120ish delivered. I spoke to them and he said he has sold loads of them without a problem. With the Bendix 4x4 pads I can't complain. They've done about 15000km.
On the other hand I fitted DBA slotted discs to my BA Falcon. They haven't lasted any longer than the cheaper RDA discs. In less than 15000km the vibration is back. I've been told I need to change my driving style. Next on my list to try is the Brembo discs but I think they are all coming out of China.
