    Heater core flow direction ?.

Today I replaced a leaking fuel pressure regulator and to make a bit more room for my hands I disconnected the heater hoses from the firewall. I've reconnected them but I'm thinking that I might have reversed the hoses as now the hoses don't get hot. Does the hose from the fuel cooler go to the pipe closest to the transmission tunnel or doesn't it matter ?.

It does matter and the pipe from the fuel cooler goes to the inner connection like you said but you might have created an air lock in the matrix...did you bleed it properly?... remove the tank's cap and go for a ride untill the gauge gets to the middle, keep the revs as high as possible(above 1500 anyway) as the bypass valve within the stat to be fully opened as much as possible...this might dislocate the air...then bleed it again, prepare some coolant to have within reach cos the level will drop in the tank this way so dont drive it more than 10km without checking the level
