D2 rear windows not working

listen carefully near the interior fusebox while you operate a switch ...do you hear the relay clicking?, the main relay for rear windows is R3 interior fusebox, the first big one(or the only big one if it's not V8) under the two small indicator relays

The block diagram at least let me know the rear window control was not part of the BCU. And it makes sense, the wires going to the front window switches are small and the wires to the rear window switches are large. Dead give away right there! Not to mention there are not enough relays in the BCU to control the rear windows as well.

It is a TD5 as thanks for the tips on where to find the relay.

The gist of it is that you must have feed at the switches on the white/pink wires as long a sthe ignition is on pos ll cos the motors are getting feed through the switch, the relay must be closed while the ignition is on and 44 second after it's off or door opened so forget about that clicking thing i made a mistake about that

the IDM is a chip within the fusebox(attached)

If the "rear widow lift relay" was missing, that would have a detrimental effect on the operation of the rear windows, would you agree?

I was mislead in the beginning because the relay was missing. I had no reason to suspect it had been removed therefore I overlooked the most simple of failures.

Needless to say I replaced the relay, I now have working rear windows :D

Glad I got to the end of this post before replying..... I had exactly the same problem. Tried everything and no joy. Found that the relay had been put into the wrong slot by the previous owner....who obviously never needed to open the rear windows:(

Anyway, after a month or 2 of frustration, problem solved in seconds:D
