    DIIA head lights

Has anybody fitted DIIA headlights to an early DII and was it worth the effort light wise?

I have tried HID, couldn't control the spread of light, took them out.

I have good driving lights but was contemplating fitting the later lights instead.

I can not find a thread to anybody having done that but remember years ago reading an article on how to do it.

    Cheers

I already have a D2a, I have fitted HID 5000k low beams and 8000K highs, the lighting is fantastic, the first HID flickered so purchased another set that handled CANBUS and flicker stopped, so if you do change over this may be a good option to add

Most good brand bulbs are advertised as "UV CUT" . These will not hurt Poly lenses , so they say.
I diligently fitted UV CUT 130/90s to my D2 , until when I went to Swampy Plains last year one of the D2s had a broken headlight. LOL.
I realised then that they are glass.

Mark, do you realise that if you strike a copper who knows the rules you could be pinged for illegal low beam lights? For an upgrade to be legal you need automatic self levelling etc to prevent blinding the oncoming traffic. While they do throw out a remarkable amount of light, they can be a real PITA if you are driving towards them. I initially replaced all of my globes (including the fog lights) with HIDs but replaced the low beams when I learned they were illegal.

Gday Roberto, yes mate I do know this RE changing to HID, one reason why I use 5000k lights in low beam so as not as blue. In Tassi mate you never see police pulling over cars for many offences, they installed a red light camera in town and after a short time they removed the camera because to many people would take the fines to court, even RBTs they do not have them in the mornings because the public complained about being late for work after being stopped at them , we have lived here for near on 5 years now and only seen 2 RBTs and can not even think of the last time I saw a police car stopping anyone. if I travel back to the main land yes I will change back to the halogen bulbs
