HSE seats on standard slide no electrics?

What I am trying to end up with is more comfortable front seats in my D2a. I'm not exactly sure what part of the HSE moves with electric motors.

Ideally the forward and backward section can still be moved manually like standard. But the rest is electric.
If this is not the case does anyone know if it is possible to mount the HSE seat on the standard slide? Or am i better off converting the whole lot to electric as if it came out with them.

Just fit the new seats, plug them in, flash the Nanocom up and Bobs yer Uncle ... Well not quite ... You'll have to fit the seat controls by either swapping out the console or carefully cutting out the openings (I did this, made a template - Take your time).

If the seats are heated, you'll also need the requisite window switch panel with the heater controls fitted.

I scored a full set of heated grey leather seats for $500, a wee bit grubby and the drivers seat edge was worn - but they came up good with a bit of TLC, they are miles ahead of the cloth seats in comfort and adjustment.

IMHO I wouldn't bother trying to change them to manual adjustment, I'm not even sure you can do it to be honest. I'm pretty sure though that some Discos were spec'd with manual adjustment leather seats.

    The seats don't have slides!
They are one piece with the bases, and it is a matter of undoing the 4 bolts and putting the other seat in.
The wires and plugs are already there for power seats and seat heating so it should be plug and play, but the BCU has to be programmed to see the seats.
Hmm I don't know where the switches are , on the seats or the console?

Here is a good set. I reckon I know someone on this forum who owns this add...

Land Rover Discovery 2 Leather Seats TD5 V8 in Rochester, VIC | eBay

I'm not sure if i will fit in them as i'm 6 foot tall, the standard seats only just go back far enough. The electric seats don't go back as far, so I've heard.

The seats have to bolt onto something to make them move forward and backward. It looks kind of like a rack and pinon setup to me.

But I really only want the front set, trying to save $. Need it for more mods for my Cape York / Fraser Island trip. There is a very good chance the seats will end up with covers on them as my girlfriend doesn't like leather seats, but also doesn't like the comfort of the standard seats. GOOD PROBLEM TO HAVE

Depends whether your long in the torso or legs, I'm 6'4" and long legged and the seats do not go back far enough.

I'm pretty sure you can reverse the seat rails on manual seats to gain another 125 - 150mm .... Not sure about the leccy ones though.

    A wee search and ..... http://www.discoweb.org/tech.htm

It's done on a D1 but I'd be pretty confident it could be applied to a D2
