There are two places that it rubs through.
The original place was just at the first bend from the fuel pump as the main engine line turns right to run across the top of the crossmember.
Mine was different as maybe when they did the original recall ( if it was done) the mechanic did not secure the redundant harness for AFAIK the height sensor on the RH side.
This sat on my high pressure line and wore a hole through just at the right angle turn of the line on the RH corner of the tank where it leaves the crossmember to meet the inside of the chassis.
When I replaced the whole manifold the mechanic wrapped the high pressure line in thick rubber tape.

This would be my one haven't seen the issue yet, 4wd action offered a years subscription to bring car in but that has still to materialise. they also sent me the article to proof read which was horrible and just outing Landys down. They changed it after I emailed them back with some suggestion to not alienate a segment of their readership Attachment 90325
If they changed it to be more friendly, it must have been a total load of garbage before....
Still is to be honest but nice piccies :)
Funny, I never knew ZF made the R380......
Or that you couldn't get a 99 with ACE......
The other thing and top of their list of problems was turbo failure.
In the 2 years I have owned my D2 , I have rarely if ever seen anyone post about turbo failure.
The turbos are a generic item anyway from Garrett or someone so any fault would be the same as any diesel. In any case turbo failure is usually about poor quality oil or neglected changes and a TD5 would be far better in that respect that the Japs as it has the centrifugal filter.

Have heard of a couple of turbo failures but not a common fault. Didn't see this list of woe when they did the defender buying guide.
Who cares. Stops 4WDA ******* buying land rovers

It's a 4WD mag that appeals to the Patrol/Landcruiser crowd and the sort of yobbish image that surrounds it, always has been but I used to like the articles but the last few years it's become dull. I was a subscriber for 13 years but have since stop buying there mag not because of any anti-LR articles but I just got sick of the same old stuff being repeated, LR's are crap but good off-road, Patrols/'Cruisers are brilliant and if you don't own one you're a dickhead kind of mentality.
Some may disagree with my comments but that's how I feel about 4WDA.

Come fellas... The article was a poor attempt at humor. The fact is they don't understand when you buy a Land Rover you're buying into a community. It is no surprise they don't get it, others haven't understood for years, that is not about to change now. Why should we care so much?
All I wanted to do was complement Steve223 on a neat Disco 2. Looks great mate.
Is this article online, I'd be interested in reading it?
