Ok, so after a few late nights a week I was finally done with everything just in time for Easter! So the disco was off the road for about two weeks during this time as with two little kids, I can only work at night in the shed after 8 when they are in bed.
Towed the camper over to Boot to stay with rellies for easter and it ran great. Alternator and power steering pump both worked a charm. The only issue is a slight coolant leak from the bottom radiator hose where it joins those two metal pipes. I used a Stanley knife to cut off the old hoses as they were all heat welded on and had to be cut off. I have slightly scratched the surface of the metal pipe and coolant has been slowly dripping when the motor is cool. I'll take the hose off tonight and sand it flat.
Interesting to note my oil pump bolt was tight. I've always thought it was an over reported issue ;) No leaks yet from the sump gasket but it's only a matter of time :)
I think that my sump leak is the oil leak that killed my alternator not the cam inspection leak as I first thought. It appears that whilst driving the oil has been forced up and back from the front right of the sump gasket leak into the back of the alternator from wind. At least that's the way the old oil stain goes.
Still haven't done the leather cover on the steering wheel. That might come one night this week. :)
It never ends... :)
