Further to my injector codes
I have just been into my motor again. I have removed the viscous fan and was rotating the engine to top DC.
When I got to dropping the locking pin into the groove I noted that it was about two sprocket notches away from the highest point on the cam.
When I did the head job, is it possible that the timing chain moved around on the bottom sprockets?
As you can guess, this is my first effort at this work on a Disco.

I don't know whether that is possible. However if you are saying that the Cam is out of locking position when you have the TDC locking pin in the crank then that could have happened and may be some your problem, as long as it is timed correctly the position of the coloured links does not matter. Reset the timing making sure that you follow the correct procedure and see if that fixes some of your problems. But the noise from the pump is symptomatic of the washers not sealing as you know.
