    hot knee

hey guys sorry for all the posts lately as you have probably gathered im a new d2 owner

ive got another question regarding the center console

are they meant to get really hot?

the passenger side is cool but the drivers side is piping hot and a little concerning

its weird because to start with i thought it may have just been the climate control blowing hot air out at my feet but its not, the panel is extremely hot but the air coming out is super cold...

you must be a shorty pedro
For those of us who are a bit taller and have long legs, we've go no chance of using the left footrest unless you want to make a large dent in the dashboard. I have to slide my left foot next to the brake pedal, and my leg does lean against the center console. That's why I'm about to do the seat mod so i can slide it back a couple of inches.

Back to the original thread - not sure what engine your running, but ive got the V8 petrol - no heat coming through the center console on mine at all. Sounds like you have an issue there.

    Aye Cap'n!

    back to the OP's Q',,
bit confusing with mate taking about his knee, then the AC outlet near the foot rest,

My navigator says the tunnel wall on her side is uncomfortable---

You have a transmission just under there which is running at 80C and possibly 100C.

Hot to a human is about 45C.

My Hot water system is set at the minimum and that is 45C and the water is too hot to use unmixed with cold.

So its perfectly normal for the console to feel hot after a while when the heat soak has a chance to get through. the exhaust is under the passenger side also.

Yeah im thinking im going to have to rip out my dash and check it out. Its definitely not meant to be this hot im worried the plastics will start melting soon. And its not after long drives its only after 10mins max driving so there is definitely somthing wrong. On another note is there a aftermarket transmission cooler I can fit to the auto that most people on here would recommend?

Ok I think I have narrowed this down quite a bit.
I took it for a run up the highway from the goldcoast to beenleigh and back without the climate control on and it didnt heat up at all
