    TD 5 Ingenium

How sweet would that be. All alloy , 20 valve head , VVT , roller bearing cam , offset crankshaft , variable oil and water pumps , compound turbo's running around 23 psi , theoretical standard tune figures around 190 kW / 600 NM , fuel consumption around 6 - 7 l /hundred dependent on drag coefficient / weight ( without towing ) mmm....tasty
Pie in the sky at the moment of course , but it might just be on the board at JLR , the demand would certainly be there. They are aiming for modularity. It would be a fitting name for the discovery 5 , especially if the petrol variant was a 5 cylinder as well. Les Richmond Automotive could retrofit to disco 2 with a zf 8 box and call it the Brainstorm......... Or anything they liked really..........food for thought

LR reviving what was to be a Td4/5/6 previously. Hopefully the pin isn't pulled on it again. Sounds like it would be a nice replacement for an old Td5!
    Cheers

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I thought the motor looked really good until I saw that it requires Adblue and had that EGR system.

    No thanks.

Could be like when the TD5 D2 was introduced. No one knew how to maintain it properly, here in Aus., from what I can gather. It was said it could not travel remote areas with any confidence, I'm betting the same will be said of this new engine. I am going to have a chat with Dwayne, from MR Auto, to see what Jaguar/LR have done to bring the independent shops up to speed, if anything. Bob

You can just use distilled water, or tap water or make it up your self if you can get the urea cheaply enough. Buying the Urea from Bunnings plus the distilled water costs more than Adblue from Coles Express.
