    Are Nanocom readings enough accurate?
I got varied values whilst checking 11.5-13.8V

Hi Sandu, in some vehicles, nanocom readings can be fairly accurate, while in others, in worst cases, it can be as much as a volt lower than the voltage at the cranking battery.

Best to try reading your nanocom while the motor is idling and everything else is turned off and then take a voltage reading at your cranking battery.

Then try turning on things like your air con and sound system and lights, and test the voltages again to see if there is now a difference between your nanocom voltage and the cranking battery voltage.

This type of test will give you a rough idea of whether your nanocom is giving you an accurate voltage reading under different conditions.

So had my alternator replaced around Aug last year after my Cat battery died with less than three years service.

Alternator is a Denso unit. When my MECHANINC fitted it the max voltage he could get was 13.9 v. On my madman I see voltage variations on the highway from 13.8-13.2 pending throttle input wi the occasional alarm going off when it drops to 12.9 with full release of throttle and coasting down to lower speed limit.

From reading these posts something is amiss, what should I be looking at ?. I am in the Territory travelling at Territory speeds (up to 130) so temperature can be quite hot hottest has been 45 degrees according to internal temp monitor on dash.

    cheers Chris
