    D2 Switches

Hi all. First of all this is a great forum and has got a lot of great advise. I've just got myself into a D2 which I'm building up to be a long range tourer as well as a weekend play thing. I'm going to be adding a few extras, lights, winch etc and I was just wondering if the center fascia switches on a D2 were stand alone on/off or if they need to run through a "computer" to determine functionality. Thanks

    Welcome to the forum

With the switches: Some are and some are not!

If you press one and hear a click (and it stays depressed a little) it can be used to directly actuate a relay.

If (like the fuel filler one) you press but it doesnt click - you would need a flip/flop or latching relay to make it work.

You can modify the cruise switch to activate the light when it is activated. It only has an earth that it switches in its current state. Also all plugs will fit just have to trim the keyways off. I have 4 on the left for the lights and 2 on the right 1 winch cuttout and 1 roof lights. Let me know if u need a better explanation.
