I'm going to replace my stock one with a stock oneMine has lasted 214k so far and still works. No way an ARB one would last that long IMHO.
I'm considering replacing the existing stock steering damper with the OME Steering Stabiliser - has anyone had any experience with them..?
Cheers..

Price Pricey?
the BSL has developed a slight thud(only felt not heard) on both left and right turns,
and only sometimes,, after several Mechs have looked for a reason the common
thought is a steering damper.

To answer the OP... Yes the OME ones work very well...
They work better than the factory unit -which failed to dampen sufficiently after 25,000km.
They also work better when oversize tyres are fitted...
They're only there to take the jolt out of the steering so fade away over time and often we dont notice as its gradual and we compensate for it naturally.
Mario,
I just did a quick Internet search on the part numberand quoted the first two prices I saw. Of course I recommend supporting the AULRO community heartily so don't get your knickers in a twist
And if the OP is fitting larger tyres then toombie's comments may ring true. On that note, how do you know that the stock dampner is only good for 25k toombie? My mechanic reckons that D2's steering dampner isn't that stressed and should last for ages.
In the first 25k of offroading / ownership we had the stock unit fail (no resistance)..
Like anything - they wear out... The more they are used, the more they wear...
Thanks all for the advice - much appreciated..
Turns out ARB are out of stock nationally and saying up to 6 week wait.. will probably go with the stock one in that case and have a go at installing this weekend.
Cheers..
