Firstly, the Red OAT coolant isnt suitable for copper or brass!
Red Long Life Concentrated Coolant- Nulon Australia
The TD5 coolant drain plug socket thingy can be silver brazed with (blue tip) silver solder.

Hey guys, looks like my radiator pipe ( the one that is metal with the drain plug that joins the 2 rubber hoses is leaking around the drain plug) what is this part called and is there any reason why I couldn't bend out of copper pipe, my son has access to pipe benders that plumbers use so should be fairly straight forward, would copper be too soft, looked on roverlords ebay shop but couldn't see the part
cheers

Hi Ken that part is PVF100120. The pipe assembly is very expensive, ( take a second mortgage out)
Try Ken on this forum aka Outback1, he might have a second hand one on one of his wrecks.
Or alternatively, depending on where the leak is at the plug, bronzing it might buy some time or bronzing the plug closed, which means you will have to undo a hose to drain the system in the future.
Cheers,
Mario
Thanks guys for the replies, I'm not using red oat in the radiator, I flushed it all out and now using nulon glycol based green coolant, so would that be okay in copper
cheers

Ken, the best way to repair these is with TIG. They usually leak around the bung, and a good fabricator will do the job for a small fee.
