Can I ask how you inflated them? As in, once installed did you start car? Or jack down? Or something else?
Very strange they both failed!

I know it is an old thread, but would like to consult here regarding the RKB101200 failure I had.
My GENUINE RKB101200 were starting to drop, so I decided to replace them with two fresh ones.
Purchased the BEARMACH OEM - CONTITECH.
Well, to be honest they look different from the GENUINE one I have, but decided to give it a shot and replace them.
All went well up to the point the compressor was starting to raise the chassis, the rear right air spring burst right away following the rear left.
Up until today I had ALWAYS used the GENUINE Land Rover parts while changing my Air Springs with no issue including changing in the trail when one failing.
Does anyone encountered such issue?
What bother me the most they BOTH failed so it might be a manufacturing failure?
What do you people recommend?

After installing the air springs I had put the wheels back on, removed all jacks and stands, car only on it's wheels
Started the car, closed all doors letting the compressor inflating the air springs
The odd thing is when putting the original air springs (genuine Land Rover) all went well with the same scenario
Looks like the Bearmach stuff cannot handle the pressure
What worries me more is what could happen when one travel to the bush having the Bearmach support your vehicle...
I also have mine deflated ATM putting lifting block under them. I was going to have stands under the chassis then let the bags drop a bit before turning the car on. Does this work?
Bearmach OEM - Contis.
O. E. M means original equipment manufacturer. It doesn't mean they are genuine.
It means they are made in the same factory. ( that can also be true of say Coca cola factory, making a no frills cola, yes it's made in the same factory , but not necessarily the same quality)
O.E on the other hand is original equipment. It may be the genuine part but without a Land Rover Brand marking on it.
Thanks for updating, could not locate an O.E for the RKB101200, I would gladly buy such if I could put my hands on it
Hmm not how I usually do it,,
support axle and chassis, partially inflate, remove chassis stands, then axle stands.
Having said that,
I fitted Conti's on the green one which worked fine.
so the bellows ripped?
same place on both?

Yes they ripped.
The USED GENUINE ones were fitted right after with noissue the same method.
I wonder...
Very strange. I have 4 years and 100,000 km on the same bags with no issues.
My original bags were branded landrover as well as Contitech.
Whilst you were inflating them, did you check to see that they were rolled over themselves correctly and not bent in half. This can easily occur. To me I would guess this has what has happened as there is a failure on one side of the top.
If they were bent in half the compressor would keep running and over pressurise them as the vehicle would not be raising.
Ps: agree with Pedros method - this is how I changed mine.

The issue is that you seem to have fitted them in the incorrect manner. Letting the vehicle right down without any air pressure at all will cause them to fold over. Obviously when they inflate they will tear out of the top clamp like you have experienced.
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
