Am I the only one who spotted the four loose screws that are flowing around loose on the PCB?
most likely cause was the electrolyte in the capacitor finally dried out an the capacitor turned itself into a short and went phut releasingb lots of conductive bits and paper inside the box.
wait till you get a full size capacitor do it, if you were in a defender you'd have heard the bang from just that little one.
The screws are from the ecu cover, just threw them in there, good storage space and I figured I couldn't do any more damage.
Have heard caps blow before, I had one blow in a motorcycle dash once it sounded like a .22 and sprayed burning stuff all up my neck OUCH.
Well my wife seems very happy with the size of my Capacitor, no shortage of stored energy here !!
Back on track, our disco is up and running very happy. A big thanks to Strangy for the ecu.
A couple of questions
1 Is there a way to get Nanacom to read injector codes? if not I'll write them down somewhere this time.
2 I've heard that the td5 wont run if the accell track is set incorrect, im up and running again, can I use Nanacom to identify which I have or is It a matter of part numbers off accell?
Also have a couple of codes I never seen before
9.6 inlet throttle open load
13.6 inlet throttle short curcuit
I read somewhere? that it may be related to my new ecu coming out of vehicle that had no ac and other accessories
Im am De EGRed
Your thoughts please.
I don't think a nanocom can actually read injector codes.
I think it reads the codes stored in the ecu.
So you will probably have to take the cam cover off and read them.
However.....
I plugged a fried ecu into my car which had the same problem as yours and I was able to get a copy of the factory map loaded on it.
So if you still have your old ecu although it wont run the vehicle you still may be able to copy the engine settings off it:).
Hope this is of some help.
Cheers,
Paul.
Hi,
I should have given you more info with that
The ECU is from a 2000 manual with air.
The accelerator pedal on your rig should be a 2 track and that is what was set in the ECU also.
I reckon it's rocker cover off for the injector codes.
I can find the stored file for that ECU and send it to you, however, the Nanocom will already be able to read what was setup anyway.
