    That annoying little hose

Does anyone remember the sizes of that small hard to replace coolant hose hidden behind turbo I seem to remember 19mm down to 16mm. Plan on replacing it when I pull motor and trans out to do leaks and replace trans want to start getting parts together, may look at a silicone hose and found a few that do step down 22mm to 19mm and 19mm to 16mm.
disco seriesII mods so far:-bullbar,hyd winch,
detriot locker, lsd front,C.D.L kit, chipped and bigger intercooler,2" lift, rock sliders, lsd in transfer case, modified auto trans.

    Little hose

If you have replaced a radiator and follow the instructions NOT to drill out the blocked off nipple on the radiator you wont need that little sucker you can block off the 'little hose' from the oil cooler.

    Cheers

Mine is now blanked off too. There was even a UK model that did not have it from the factory. Here's the diagram:

thanks - I have a 1999 build D2 (and it's de-EGR'd) and i'm about to do an oil change tomorrow and was going to look for that little hose (were ever it is?) and check it's condition - is it true that it can be done away with and pipes blanked off !! will the engine suffer in the long run?

Photo's would help 'cos that drawing in the link is confusing if one is not familiar with what it's intending to show...

One can only blank off the oil cooler secret hose if your EU2 engine radiator has been replaced for a new radiator suited to both engines (10p and 15P) with blanked off spigots.

The coolant flow diagrams in rave show how the oil cooler flow for eu3 engine only supplies eu3 egr cooler

    Regards

And I've just been assured that you can blank off that pipe where it emerges from the block when you remove the EGR exhaust gas cooler:

    Feel re-assured you can!
Not for those with EU2 engines on original design radiators
