td5 coolant fluid pink to red

I recently replaced a hose on the radiator and lost all my my fluid so replaced it with water for the time being. It was originally pink fluid and lost almost all of it so it has sort of flushed it. I've read that red nylon coolant is a good replacement but wanted to know if I should still clean and flush it. How would I flush it? There is still pink residue in the header tank.
    Thanks

    Welcome to the site Muturola.
It would be a good idea to give it a flush whilst you have it apart.
While you are doing that, I would undo the heater pipes near the drivers side rear of engine and REVERSE flush them. You will be surprised how much junk holds up in the heater element and is removed by reverse flushing.
As for the colour of the pink/red , as long as it is OAT (organic ). all will be good.
Do NOT mix oat with glycol type stuff,
    Regards, Nick.
