Maybe check battery voltage.
Have you still got those stupid LR battery leads with the vertical bolt? If so check for corrosion in them.
Regards Philip A
I have a TD5 D2a.
Jumped into it this morning using key fob. Interior light came on.
Put key into ignition and turned. Nothing. No dash lights not action at all.
Get out of car, no interior light. Go to lock it using key fob, nothing.
Did not have time to check battery voltage but the battery is less than 6 months old.
Is there a fusible link that could blow and kill all power?
Won't be able to check things till tonight.
Any pointers?
Thx
Richard.

+1 ^^^, see if the battery clamps are well tightened, measure the voltage and if it's low it means you have some serious parasitic drain... usually this kind of thing is caused by bad alternator
Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
What Philip and sierra said plus you'll probably find by giving said stupid terminals a twist and tighten will give you back power until you can fit decent terminals
I still have the original LR clamps. They are getting to the stage where they cannot be adjusted.
I have been concerned about the alternator for a while.
I will check tonight.
Thx
Richard.
Fixed the problem. +ve terminal was dislodged. Need to replace the cable clamps to stop it happening again.
As a stop gap meaure if you clean up the battery posts and splay the terminals a little you can then fold ome alfoil and instetr it between the post and the terminal before tightening up the terminal.
dont leave it there long, its purely a get you home/to the parts place and back kind of patch.

Thx for the advice. I have changed the -ve terminal. The +ve clamp I bought is not fit for purpose. Will get a different one. I have tightended the existing one for now. It does not move on the post.
