When to replace front discs (rotors)
My front discs have 1.4mm of ware on one side of the disc. I still have 5.5 mm left on the brake pads. So the question is, when do I have to replace my brake discs?
The manual gives original and minimum measurements but my front discs are vented and seem to be bigger than the measurements.
Is there a way to gauge when to change the discs?

1.4mm and not undersized is weird.
That said, I replace the rotors when the steering wheel shakes when braking. I get about 2 sets of pads to each set of rotors.
Cheers

Ahh, I think I understand. There are two sides to the disc so if one side has about 1.4mm of wear then it is best to assume that the other side is about the same. So 2.8mm of wear from the original 25mm gives me 22.2mm.
In other words its time to change the discs.
Thanks for the link Tombie.
