Had leak on D2a at 180k. Head and exhaust manifold machined, all bolts replaced.
Crack and pressure tested. Cost including labour $2600. This was three months ago.
If I required a new head approximately extra $2000.

I am missing something here. If steel dowels were fitted after 2A736340 does this not mean that plastic ones were fitted up till 2A736339?Quote:

The ability to fit steel dowels after that vin indiccates the holes were bigger to allow for exspansion of the alloy head. Or so it would appear.
