Small D2 brake caliper repair. (rubber boot)

I use covs , is there one in Darwin ? , if not repco will have it
The pistons can be real tight sometimes, especially if the boots are stuffed so I usually use brake line clamps on the calipers I'm not doing
Then remove the pads , caliper ( supported) and disc leaving brake line connected to the one I'm going to overhaul, and , with a tray to catch the fluid, pump the pistons out with the brake pedal. Sometimes air isn't enough

About 100psi of air got mine. Using the shrader valve screwed in, I could just pump them up like a tyre.

I picked up a pot of castrol brake grease, red color. I'd need to hunt in the garage for the exact name, but cost about $20 for it.
They go with a fair pop don't they :)

I did some running around yesterday and ended up with 5 x 6g satchels of the Bendix stuff. Repco had a reasonable size tube but they wanted $44 for it. I doubt i'll need it again in a hurry and probably loose it before then (moving house again). The 6g satchels cost me $2ea. There are about 3 left in the store if I need more but Bendix say I'll only need 1 per caliper. I recon I'll need 1.5, LOL.

So I pulled all the calipers off and painted them Ducati Red like this:

Then I replace all the seals like this: (On the Kitchen table while my wife was out, so funny)

I received my Rapid RS rotors. Unless you pay the premium, they come unpainted. I had a can of high temp, 2000 degrees C (I think) paint lying around so I painted the hubs of the rotors.
