Efficacy of the later SLABs unit is very much a matter of personal preference. I know lots of people who say it's tops, and others who aren't concerned.

I hope you are talking SLABS CDL activation and not the mechaincal part of the CDL activation. The early D2 had a CDL with the lever to lock it. It was about 2001 they fazed it out. The stopped putting the lever in first but the internals were still there. Then they stopped both the lever and internals. Guessing it was just as old transfer case stock ran out. Then they brought the CDL back in the D2a.
They had a nipple mate but not a lever. You had to get under the vehicle with a driver or shifter to lock and unlock. D2 was not sold with CD lockable in cab as standard.
Cheers
Just getting a better response
No worries mate. You scored there. I had to fit the output housing with internals from a d1 as mine was one of the last few off the line before d2a came down the rollers. Cheers
I now have the small attachment from the top of the box but I'm yet to rig it up with a cable pull. I'm going to put a lawn mower throttle style cable to under the bonnet. Just to save lying on my back in the dirt or mud. I don't know how many times I've done it now.
Happy Days
The Traction control works really well on the D2 uphill,
But the abs, in my view, is dangerous when 4wding especially on a steep greasy hill, get stuck 3/4 of the way up and when you need to back up a little a wheel slides and the ABS kicks in & you end up sailing backwards out of control, same going downhill.
Awful feeling.....
