    Improved running

Just thought I would say how I improved the td5. It has slowly, ever so slowly over the last 12 mths been losing its "edge". Feul econ has dropped, the feeling of having to "push" it to keep on 100-110. Did the filters, cleaned the maf and still not the feel. So I decided to bite the leaden object and get a new maf(thanks Mario and Heather) even though the readings were within specs it was the only part that really has an overall bearing on all the parameters.
Well, that was the item! Fuel has gone back to the 9s, the motor just wants to run over the 100kmh like nothing now, had to really watch the speedo on the weekend as 120 on the straits came up easy. Hard to believe just that 1 item improved the drive so much, though being an electrical item it has to degrade over time,So 268k kms seemed fair.
The airflow readings on the nanacom seem to be much more constant now whereas before they were up and down for any given throttle position. Im not sure if it imagination but the gearbox shift points have lost the slight jerkyness of before too. So overall very pleased. Oh I replaced the dcv with a new 1 also.
    Cheers Scott

Do you have any added extras on your rig or is it stock?
What readings where you getting on the maf compared to the new maf?
Did you buy a genuine Land Rover part?

Mario and Heather at Roverlord are champions! I might also suggest it is well worth cleaning the MAP sensor on the top of the intake manifold to improve throttle response and drive-ability.

Hi guys, yes did the map clean also. The maf is a genuine unit, not cheap, but is in the long run I think. The readings of the old unit was in the 400-500 range but very inconsistent,at 100kmh on the hiway to bris it would vary from low 400 to over 500 and back again quickly. This was on flat straight sections with no real alterations in speed. This to me was an indication things were not quite right along with fuel econ drop.
Apart from the ecu having the d2a update and I removed the egr and the auto has the Ashcroft hd torque converter the car is stock with 268000kms on it
    Cheers Scott
