The steel pipes going into the oil pump hand different threads and as I had already ordered new pipe along with a lot of other parts this is the easiest way to cut and join the pipe.
It is 12mm tube ferrules and joiners from a hydraulic outfit $60 note one is a tee fitting I am going to fit a temp sensor on the outlet and this is an easy way I think.
Just waiting on the torque converter to show up hopefully Monday will make a start on the transfer case overhaul now so I can at least put the trans in Sunday or maybe Saturday arvo if all goes well.
Could you hang it from the top rack? keeping the top rotor away some how.
Dishwasher detergent is strongly alkaline, it will eat away at the aluminium. You might notice that the metal is a darker grey colour. A lower alkalinity low foaming detergent would be better, may be laundry detergent.

Yep I used a low alkaline detergent remembered something years ago when new hot parts washers came out and people would put there alloy heads in and stuff them
Trans going in,sitting on ply to make it easy
Rear supported and two come alongside used with small one to keep it central, this was done by myself.
I think you deserve a beer, I used to have to do it this way pre hoist days by myself as well , hope you've got some really effective wheel chocks at the front:)
And the front off the engine crane just managed to beat the storm and get it bolted up, just waiting for torque converter.
Yes I have good wheel chocks as my driveway is on a slope also one of the rear wheels that are up on ramps is tied to the ramp and also have a tie down strap through front wheel and onto the bullbar with having to lift one side of vehicle better to be safe.
I will have a beer when it is mobile either to celebrate or drown my sorrows if torque converter shows up tomorrow should have it mobile Wednesday as still waiting for manifold to be finished getting coated which I should be able to pick up Tuesday.
Really keen to see how this goes as I'll probably be in a similar position shortly, my hats off to you for getting in and giving it a go!
