odo lamp is just a globe iirc there are 5 globes in the climate control unit
Hi every one.
I have been trying to replace the back lights in the ATC or air conditioning module on my 99 TD5.
I find a faint glow on the left hand temp control up/down buttons
and the A/c main panel lights up but the right side does not.
The local Land Rover repair shop I use has none left and no knowledge of where to get any more.
The smaller lamps have long wire tails, that have to be wound around the sides of the plastic plug/base bit. and then cut to length.
None of the bottom buttons are lit at night.
I also find that the odometer lamp is not working.
I was wondering if I had a fuse problem and if so where or which fuse it would be?
Any one know where to get the lamp globes with the tails?
Regards,Nick.

I used blue led's for buttons. Nice look and lasts. Cheers
JAYCAR or a similar shop - our local one changed the new bulbs onto the bases! I handed over dead bulbs and was out of the store in less than 5 minutes, all new and good to re-assemble!

Bloke in my local Jay car did not show any interest. He just said ,No we don't do dash lights . See ya.
Hi Worane,
Have a look at the thread about 8 below yours under "Discovery 2" : it is entitled Disco 2: Replacing dashboard, ATC and digital clock bulbs.
In it, Matt shows exactly how ro go about this task for the Clock, the ATC module, and the main instrument panel (Tacho & Speedo, etc).
He includes useful photos and the part numbers for some of the lights required. From what you say, it seems that some globes are different in your car (but it might just be that the ones Matt shows will fit).
Following his info, I have just completed this job for my clock and ATC module. I had already replaced the illumination globe for my odometer - it was a simple task, and a local auto-electrician had the right bulb. I just transferred the green sleeve from the old globe to the new one as it was just a clear bulb).
Just be gentle with everything, because plastic that is 16 years old can be very easily broken.
Cheers,
AndrewMilne
