My Brother in Law has a 2002 P38 with a High Comp 9:35 4.6 and he said that when he did a compression test his readings were around the 185psi mark.

My 4.6 with the US pistons they are around the 175psi (cold and dry) and that is close enough for me

What kind of compression readings are you getting on yours Pedro? If you got your engine from the UK I would think it would be a Hi Comp

For what it's worth, I'm converting my Thor P38 to Ford windsor V8 using adapters to suit the ZF4HP. This isn't a hack job either as I everything to function just like it used to.

Obviously there are a few differences between the D2 and P38 but most of the important stuff like SLABS and the info that goes to the air con and the ZF4HP will be all similar.

I know this isn't a Ford conversion thread but seeing there are blokes that need more torque etc, I thought I'd chime in.

In due course, I'll put up a EOI thread in the D2 forum for anyone interested.

No. It's a MY99 the first of the thors. I ended up going 5.0L but remember there is a huge aftermarket with these engines plus the fact you can tune them at home on your laptop rather than send your ECU overseas.

If 5.0L isn't big enough you could take it out to 5.7L. I also have alloy heads to make it breathe but also to make it light.

Also, a Ford windsor is cheaper to rebuild than getting a flogged out boy raced gen 3 ls1. But I might even gauge interest in the GM motor down the track.

    Damn you Discoclax!
The more I read the more confused I get!(quiet from the peanut gallery)
With the H180 cam I have 59deg ABDC giving me a rather high Dynamic Compression Ration of 9.1, but with a really bad quench of over 80. To get a good quench with a normal 40 thou head gasket we(RV8) need a Deck Clearance Height of ZERO, but doing that gives us an even higher DCR of over 10!

and then I'd like to take a moment and thank Simmo for making my day---
