Should be silent. I can barely hear mine.
+1^^^, put a new good brand fuel filter and run the purging sequence again it might help... if still noisy after that maybe the pump got tired due to the faulty air bleed valve cos it had to handle too much air
btw did you run the purging procedure after you replaced the valve?
Asked my mechanic to have a look/listen for me while I had some other work done. New filter fitted, pump is a bit quieter but still making a noise, he said its a bit slow on the start but ends up getting to an acceptable pressure and that its most likely on its way out. So Ill order a new one pretty soon.
Thanks for all the help guys.
Ordered a new pump yesterday, today I get in the car and the whine from the pump that goes for about 4 seconds now is constant. Might let the car sit where it is until the new pump is in.
Although I have found this video [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrujElXRvcs[/ame] which is exactly what mine sounds like, so maybe it is the seals.
Fitted new lucas pump supplied by roverspares (super fast shipping) and all noises are gone. Whoopie!
