    I know I'm no professional mechanic, but I do my best to be thorough and pedantic at these sorts of things. There are times when I know that a job is beyond me, and those times I will take it to a mechanic.

    However, each time I take to some professional, there is something that I either to have to correct myself, or take it back to get fixed up properly. This includes a large Land Rover dealer. I've currently got the FPR connector tied on to the body of the FPR by a small piece of wire, thanks to them - I'll have to correct that when I get a chance. Their bad advice also resulted in me pulling out my auto to fix a rear main oil seal, which wasn't leaking.

    The one exception to this has been British Off Road here at the Sunny Coast.

    So that would say to me there's no point in taking it anywhere other than British off road . you can get bad/ inexperienced, or careless tradies / professionals in any field , you do stand a better chance of getting good work done if you go to an independent specialist, one that will quote a price and stick by that price. Word of mouth works as well.If you can meet and speak to the owner you can make a judgement on how committed they appear , also if it's a sloppy looking workshop or an organised one. By the way I'm on the other side of the country and have no affiliation with them but I am a mechanic by trade and the same ethos should apply anywhere
