    Thrum thrum noise.

    Hi people.
I have been noting a low thrum thrum noise on the highway that seems to be getting louder. I am wondering if it is the front drive shaft (which does not have a grease nipple). I know the engine mounts need doing, the new ones are sitting on the dining room table, which is probably not a good use for them!
Does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks Outback. I thought it might come to that.
By the way, I like the town that you live in. I towed a big house boat through there a while back with my J 20 Jeep. It seemed to be a good place to live.
    Regards, Nick.

Yes it is a great place to live we are 5ks out on 40 acres so no neighbours as Pedro says it is important to check the front shaft as well if you are not doing the mounts asap ( they will take a couple of hours to do ) I usually do the drivers side mount first leaving the top nut loose which allows a bit more movement when doing the passenger side

I have changed from the old BF Goodridge to a set of Coopers and the sound was there with both types of tyres.
I will take a dive under it and check the prop shaft. Is there any thing special I should be looking for , except a lateral wonkieness ?
