Ah ok that makes sense. Mine had it already with the factory lever, etc when I bought it so I never really looked into it.... Thanks for that

Just to finish the discussion.
Jacked up a wheel transfer case in neutral, engaged the cdl lever, cant move it, disengage it, spins freely. Problem one solved
Looked at the switch, remove the wires, switch disintegrates, typical landrover brittle plastic in a high temp zone.
Rang up Ritters, we havent got one. ULr hasnt, but Port Melbourne does have. So I drive to Port and half an hour later, no mate havent got one. Bit of a bugger really I dont want it all back together just to pull it apart again in a weeks time.I still have my disco 2 V8, that I pulled my aftermarket lever off. So i grabbed the switch out of that. Problem solved I think.
No no, put the switch in, no dash light. Short the wires, yep it works. Finally in frustration i take off the locking nut from the switch, problem solved, works perfectly. Just dont screw it down too hard as you cant engage the cdl.
Now before some of you smart people say hey you need that nut. The switch screws in very stiff so I think it will be OK. I'll watch it just to be safe.
All in all a successful but very long episode. Thanks for your help again guys.

If you want to be sure just put some theadlock on it or even silstic at a pinch. That way you know it wont move.
Cheers Scott
