    Please help
    Hi again Fellipe,
When you say "mpg", which gallon do you use in Brazil, or which one do you mean?
It will make quite a difference to the mpg that you achieve (assuming that the miles are the same!).
The US Gallon is equivalent to 3.781 litres, the Imperial Gallon is 4.54 litres.
So one Imperial Gallon is 19.83% greater in volume than one US Gallon.
If you read people saying they get 26 mpg and they are in Australia, Britain, or South Africa, then they will be talking about Imperial Gallons.
I am just suggesting that we make sure we are actually talking about/in the same units!

    Wow. I didnt know that...

In brazil we use kilometers per liter. I am getting about 7.

Then I used google to convert to mpg which turns out is us gallons.
Now that I know I've been reading imperial mpgs from all those forums I can say I am getting about 20 mpg Sounds a bit better

    Thanks for clarifying that

We (in Australia) also generally use km per litre (or litres / 100 km).
In city use, I get around 7.5 km per litre (range 700 - 750 km).
At a steady 100 km / hour on a fairly flat open road, it is almost 10 km per litre.
I have driven for 930 km without running out, but the fuel warning light had been on for 30 km or so.

    In Australia we use litres/100km.

As far as I know litres are the same volume all over the world and kilometres are the same length everywhere.

The Australians who get 26 mpg are using about 9 litres/100km.

Your 16 miles per US gallon is about 14.7 litres/100km.

Even for urban use that seems a bit disappointing unless you drive very aggressively.

Other way round? Wouldnt it be greater than 10l/100km, not less. I've always worked on 28mpg is near enough 10l/100km.

vnx205 is correct in both his conversions
....and so is pibby with his 28 mpg ----> 10litres/100 km (I get 10.08)

The conversions I looked at say 10l per 100km is 23.52 US mpg and 28 imperial mpg although a couple of the conversions at the top were wrong.

    I am 100% sure that 10l 100km is 28 imperial mpg.

For uk mpg to l/100km divide into 282 , so 28 mpg is about 10 l/100km. For USA use 235 as the figure. Obviously use same figure to convert l/100km into mpg.

    This assumes 3.785l = 1 USA gallon.

So 14 l/100 km is still pretty high for a Td5 D2. You should be able to get 10. The only time I ever saw close to 14 l/100km was after a long high speed run at between 145-150 kph.

With the exception of the tuning box and larger intercooler mine is pretty much stock standard, and I average 10 l/100 and mine will accelerate from 0-100 kph in around 11secs, so has plenty of get up and go when needed. Before the mods I averaged just over 9 l/100 km.
