the thread in the valves is plastic,if it is damaged you may get away with thread tape for a short time.there should be a heap of used valves around as they are usually replaced with the compressor,As pedro said don't stuff around the compressor dont like it.
Yeah it's been happening for a while. Changed airbags for second hand ones to fix but think the thread in the block is to loose as it doesn't tighten anymore. Compressor is fine still.

Pedro,I often wonder if we have the same cloned vehicle.
It could be one or both of the new bags leaking.
I had the same issue; replaced a bag and then had a very slow leak. Couldn't trace the leak and after two months the new bag let go (very inconveniently 300ks from home). Now replacing both bags with BOSS as this is the second new bag to fail in just over two years.
Spray very soapy water near the base of the bag. Hopefully you won't see bubbles.
