    Disabling Volumetric Sensors

I'm having problems with my alarm with my 2003 D2. When I lock it using the remote the alarm starts sounding within a minute of two of pressing the lock button.

When I lock with the key there is no problem.

I have been advised that this is due to a problem with the volumetric alarm/sensor but that tracking the exact fault down would be tricky because it could be a dry joint or lose wire somewhere hard to find.

So, is there a way to disable just the volumetric sensors so that I can still use the remote to lock? Or are there any quick tests to see what the fault might be?

    Thanks in advance!

Hi, the volumetric alarm can be disabled with tester in BCU alarm settings or simply unplug the sensors

Thanks! I was hoping it would be something as simple as that and not something mroe complicated like a control unit receiving false signals.

    Cheers!

And with a Nanocom for example you can change the settings so a single press of the remote is lock and a double press is lock with the volumetric alarm on.
    Cheers

No offence but that's wrong, what you say is for superlock, the volumetric sensing has only two options: enabled-disabled

My passenger side sensor has been disconnected for about 4 years with no issues. The sensor seemed to have gotten contaminated after some work on the roof to repair a dint. I might replace it one day.

    Spray first

I had a similar issue but it turned out to be a large moth that was hiding in my disco. I now give a good dose of flyspray if it ever starts happening again. I also had a mouse causing the problem once - but he ran into the heater fan while I was driving one day and took out the fan lol.

I have disabled the alarm with Nanocom. AFAIK the remote locking unlocking is a separate setting.
I have set my remote unlocking a single press.
