well found the latest problem water in sump possible head gasket (I hope) or more serious problems ( hope not) well can only try will get the head checked once it's off
wish me luck if worst come to worst will give it a heart transplant will mean buy a motor from a wrecker & rebuild it cheaper than buying a new one

Are you getting any sings of oil in the header tank?
If so it could be the oil cooler that has failed.
With the engine running oil is pushed into the cooling system, then when you stop the engine the cooling system pressure is pushing water back into the sump.
the head was lifted blown gasket at number 5 thanks for the info on the oil cooler

Took the head off blown head gasket + cracked head do you know where I can get a recon head in perth or a new one also need cam shaft & cams

You could try West Coast Rover in Kenwick for a used head.
Best option, but not the cheapest, is a new AMC head Turners in the UK can supply Land Rover TD5 cylinder head LDF500170, LDF500160, 300TDI cylinder head, 2.0TCie Freelander cylinder head LDF107830L, 2.5 & 2.5TD new short engine assembly and cylinder head, STC 803, LDF109390L 1.8 Freelander petrol cylinder head, crankshafts 300TDI
