    TPMS in D2

Hi folks. Have purchased an 8 tyres, tyre pressure management system for my D2 and tandem caravan. Have worked out pressures data entry OK, but no idea on what range of temps I should use for alarm activation.
D2 has new Pirelli Scorpion AT 265 75 16 LT and van has the same size but can't recall brand - tyres are away.
    Any ideas? Cheers Gavin

Can't answer your question, but would be interested to know which TPMS you went for. I'm considering getting one for my D2 and single axle camper.

I have a Jette Jet-400C system and have had it for a while.

I have the sensors that screw on to the valve stem outside the tyre. Currently on my second set.

I can adjust the pressures only as the temp is factory set at 75c and 88c.

I have stopped using mine as the wheel sensors first and second set have proven to be unreliable over time. The sensors are also not very cheap at about $31 ea.

Also interested what make you got???

    this one
Digital Tyre Pressure Monitoring System | TPMS
    Pretty happy so far.
Cheaper than some others. $489 for full unit and 8 sensors.
Excellent service, they were happy to answer questions etc.
External sensors, so have to remove them to pump up, but no air loss to date.
Running for 5 months now (no probs) and waiting for first bush trip to see if sensors can possibly get caught in scrub etc - don't think they will, but sensors can get close to rubbing on rims. A member came up with an excellent idea - put a piece of home irrigation black poly pipe over sensor for rough road travel.
Yet to attach caravan - van due in 4 weeks.
Display rotates through each sensor activated.
Can easily (even for a troglodyte like me ) reprogram for trailer/no trailer.
    Happy to provide more info.
    Cheers Gavin

all tyres have a temp range stamped on them,, A B or C
means nothing really as only the manufacturer knows what the letters mean. In real terms the temps vary as much as 10deg front to back and the ones on the sunny side are always hotter(go figure) minimum I saw was 35ish, max was 45ish, in the end I just set the alarm at 50deg and stopped checking.
It will be interesting to hear if all 8 connect from the drivers seat.

One of the problems with the screw on valve sensors. Is they can bounce the sensor on the rim. A workmate had the tyreDog TPMS on his hilux and the went thru a number sensors till he put some foam around the valve stem and sensor.

I am interested in the valve stem replacement or the rim bands

Has anyone with one of these systems actually prevented (or thought they have perhaps ) a flat tyre? $490 is nearly two new tyres. IMHO that's better a preventative.

Yep... Picked up a slow leak (bead) and saved the tyre...

Also worth its weight in that quick Pre-Start check each trip...

Although I dont have a TPMS. I do love gadgets, so will get one soonish.
But well and truly worth there price if they are reliable for a couple of years. as correct tyre pressures can mean the difference from 20,000km or 80,000+km out of a set of tyres.

Also would have saved atleast one tyre on a trip that had a nail in it. Didnt realize it had a slow leak. Pressure got low, tyre got hot and just shredded the side wall. Trip was completed with no spare.
